I’d love to hear from you!
My degree is in PPE (philosophy, politics and economics), but I like a lot of other things, some of which include:
Two other facts about me: I’ve signed the Giving What We Can🔸10% Pledge to donate at least one-tenth of my income to high-impact charities, and I’m vegan (for a mixture of animal welfare and environmental reasons). I think the world would be a better place if there was a stronger norm of people doing those things – and you can join & contribute if you don’t already! Acting ethically is a continuum, not a binary right vs wrong. It would be a good and virtuous thing to give away just 1% of your income, or slightly reduce how many animals you eat, and I’d be delighted if you consider doing so.
I’m still figuring out how I want to manage my online presence. In the past, I erred very strongly on the side of keeping my thoughts entirely to myself, before trying out the other extreme by publishing lots more (including rough drafts). I haven’t yet found the right balance, so not everything here will be fully fleshed out or thought through.
It’s great to have you here – I hope you enjoy taking a wander around. You might like to start with reading some of my favourite blog posts, perusing my quotes collection, or just clicking on the links in the header and seeing where they take you. And do take a look at my friends’ websites, too.
Note that the truth-value of my takes can go down as well as up. Please remember that past pronouncements are not necessarily a guide to future (or present) beliefs.
